Johnsonite's floors to support healing at leading US children hospital and research facility
As one of the largest and most complex paediatric hospital and research facilities in the US, Nationwide Children's Hospital introduced a new healing concept based on a complex code of colors in its brand new facility extension. The concept, which relies on color and light to favour the healing process, also relies heavily on specific flooring types, which offer great freedom and flexibility in the choice and use of color to create the prescribed design patterns. With the right technical features and over 40 different tones, Johnsonite's Melodia vinyl range provided the ideal conditions to translate the new healing concept into matching floors throughout a surface of 46.500 m2.
Due to a set of complex patterns, using a variety of curved and circular elements to create the desired design impression, the installation of the entire surface produced a substantial amount of flooring waste, which was subsequently fed back into Johnsonite's nationwide "Restart" recycling program.
