Cardiff Blues choose FieldTurf synthetic turf for Cardiff Arms Park Rugby Stadium
24/07/2013 - Cardiff Arms Park will feature a new surface to host the games of the Celtic and European rugby elite for the 2013/2014 season.
Cardiff Blues, one of the greatest rugby teams in the United Kingdom, have decided to keep writing their history on artificial grass. Winners of the Anglo-Welsh cup in 2009 and of the European Challenge in 2010, they have shown through their commitment to FieldTurf, that artificial turf is the perfect solution for elite rugby. The Cardiff Arms Park will host on its new artificial turf the 2014 European Challenge Cup Final on Friday, May 23, 2014.
With the FieldTurf Optimum RGF 65 system, result in 2011 of innovative science, engineering and technology, the players will benefit from a safe and high-performance surface, which has been tested according to all the most stringent criteria set by the International Rugby Board (IRB). The FieldTurf Optimum system features a soft and strong fiber with extraordinary resistance and durability, giving the Blues the best long term solution for their players and supporters. This new surface will enable the Blues to play in excellent conditions throughout the year.
The installation of the new pitch begun in June and Cardiff Blues will be playing their first game on the new surface against Sale Sharks on Friday, August 23, 2013.
