Tarkett and Välinge announce license agreement for developing new innovative products based on Välinge Powder technology

Tarkett, a worldwide leader in innovative flooring and sports surface solutions and Välinge, a global leader in flooring research and development, announced today that they have signed during the Domotex fair in Hannover – Germany, a license agreement for developing a new and innovative product category.

The terms of the agreement covers the industrial development of a new product category based on Välinge’s wood powder technology with innovative properties such as increased impact and wear resistance.

Tarkett strengthens its flooring business and extends its locking license with this new powder technology.

Evaluated for about one year with full size production tests at Tarkett facilities, the Välinge powder technology obtained excellent results. Välinge and Tarkett anticipate that new floor categories based on Powder Technology will capture large market shares mainly from stone and ceramic but also from traditional high quality laminate floors.

The coming months will enable both companies to further develop this wood fiber floor technology in order to offer to the market a complete new range of products.

“Our focus is to reinforce our position as a global and innovative solution provider that generates value for our customers in a sustainable way. We are delighted to cooperate with Välinge, a long time technology provider to Tarkett, in order to further complete the Tarkett offer” says Michel Giannuzzi, CEO of Tarkett Group.

“We are proud that Tarkett, as one of the most innovative flooring companies in the industry with strong global market positions, has decided to invest in our new powder technology. We are convinced thatwe will be able to develop this new and promising technology further in close cooperation with Tarkett” says Darko Pervan, CEO of Välinge.
